A farmer is a Man Outstanding in his Field
In the performance A Farmer is a Man Outstanding in his Field, Kristian has been working to visualize people's primary needs, such as food, rest, work and "reproduction". But he also shows a development that when these needs are met, we create new ones. For that he uses the characters Inger and Isak from the novel
Growth of the Soil by Knut Hamsun, which we follow from nature to culture.
Having taken over his childhood home, a small farm, this is maybe Kristians most personal work. A time-lapse film that captures one of his own fields throughout a whole year is a central part of the stage design.
